February 14th is not so much a love letter to us from the cupids in the clouds above, but more of a money-making commercialised cesspool of romantic anxieties and insecurities.
So, in honour of that highly positive starting note, I’ve compiled some of the best books on love I’ve read throughout the years, and the ones I’m currently hoarding and trying to read.
A celebration of love mustn’t confine itself only to romantic love. (That being said, there are some beautiful books written on romantic love that are far too good to leave out.)
As a love letter to all the authors and books that go undiscovered or intentionally oppressed by Western media, I’ve been indulging in a lot of Indian essays and memoirs, as well as devouring Korean and Japanese fiction. I don’t know how many you’ll find in the list below because I’m typing without any particular destination in mind right now.
I’ll briefly mention the vibes so you know what to pick up next - hopefully. Although, if you’re a compulsive shopper like me, the buy button is irresistible.

For when you’re feeling nostalgic about an old flame, excitable about a new one, or simply in the mood for the gooey, tingly vibes.
For when you want to shuffle between the past, present, and future tenses of love.
For when you’re in the mood for something truly weird, but cute nonetheless.
For when you’re in the headspace to sob in bed with a bucket of ice cream.
Intuitive Eating for Every Day: Rediscover the Pleasures of Eating
For when you’re ready to truly love your body.
